Educational Philosophy

 

At The Excel Project Reading Success Academy, we believe:

With patience, encouragement, consistency, and effective teaching strategies, every child has the ability to become a successful reader.

School-Year Reading Continuation Program

 

The School-Year Reading Program provides individualized reading instruction designed to strengthen each student’s reading skills throughout the academic year.

 

Instruction will focus on each child’s assessed reading level and specific areas of need, with ongoing progress monitoring to support continued growth in phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and overall reading development.

Program Dates:

Begins on the first Tuesday in September and ends on the last Tuesday in May
 

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Session Length: 90 minutes
 

Tuition: $90 per student weekly
Final Week Tuition: $45 per student for the last Tuesday in May

 

Summer Reading Program

 

The Summer Reading Program is a seven-week program designed to help students maintain and strengthen their reading skills during the summer.

Program Dates:

Begins on the first Tuesday in July and ends on the third Tuesday in August
 

Day: Tuesdays only
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Afternoon Session: 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Session Length: 90 minutes
 

Tuition: $45 per student weekly
Instruction: In-person

Photo & Video Consent

 

Parents may choose whether or not their child may be photographed or videotaped while participating in The Excel Project Reading Success Academy.

​

Photos and videos may be used for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes, including the academy’s website and official social media platforms, only with parent/guardian permission.

Is this an online program?

 

No. Instruction is currently offered in person.

 

Is this a religious reading program?

 

No. The Excel Project Reading Success Academy is a secular educational reading program and is separate from the ministry programs of Women & Men of Excellence Outreach Ministries (WAMOE).

 

What curriculum is utilized?

 

The academy uses teacher-developed instructional materials and age-appropriate children’s literature.

 

Will homework be assigned?

 

Yes. Homework may be assigned to reinforce classroom instruction.

 

Will parents receive progress updates?

 

Yes. Parents will receive ongoing communication regarding their child’s progress throughout the program.
