Educational Philosophy
At The Excel Project Reading Success Academy, we believe:

Every child deserves the gift of reading because it opens the door to learning, confidence, opportunity, and leadership.

With patience, encouragement, consistency, and effective teaching strategies, every child has the ability to become a successful reader.
Parent Partnership
Parents play an important role in their child’s reading success.
To reinforce classroom instruction, parents are expected to read with their child daily. Consistent reading at home strengthens vocabulary, improves fluency, builds comprehension, and increases confidence.
Parents are encouraged to read with their child each day, including reading together before bedtime whenever possible.
The greatest progress occurs when classroom instruction and home practice work together.
Parent Commitment
Parents agree to:

Ensure their child attends class on time.

Read with their child daily.

Complete assigned home reading activities.

Encourage consistent reading habits.
-
Maintain communication with the instructor regarding their child’s progress.
Student Materials
Students should bring the following items to each class:

Two pencils
-
One composition notebook
-
One pocket folder
-
A healthy snack
-
A positive attitude and readiness to learn
Instructional materials, classroom worksheets, reading activities, and learning resources will be provided by The Excel Project Reading Success Academy.
